Shutdown Servers

Shutdown Servers

Follow these steps to power down the server rack.
You can just shut off everything, but it might cause problems for the servers or corrupt databases, etc. This process is to the best of my knowledge the most complete way to power down everything.
Most of this can be done in any order.

The switches, modem, firewalls, and most of the gear on the right rack can just lose power and have no issues. The servers in the main rack should probably be shutdown more properly.
The following steps can be performed from vSphere server (see 1password)
Login to vSphere server and go down through each VM. Not each hardware box, but the actual virtual machine. Click the machine name then click the 'launch console' button to see the screen of that VM. Then try to shutdown the vm.
-Pace Server
-
-Prinergy Server

vnc://172.16.0.21 then shutdown that system.

Once all the VMs on a certain box are down, you can power down the box using the power off option for that box in vspehere.
