Running Lotem Plots

Running Lotem Plots

You must be using an old version of the service shell to have access to run scripts.  I am using version 2.4 for this right now.

Then using the Loading System Dialog from the normal Lotem UI (not the service shell) tell the Lotem to load a plate.

Then from within the service shell you need to give the command 'load 785 1045 300' to tell the service shell that there is a 785x1045 mm .300 thick plate loaded.  Then you can click on the 'Scripts' icon on the left in the service shell.

Choose the 'Devices' category.
Then select QuantumSeries

When the script opens you will have to set a few parameters as well as choosing which series to run.  Here are a few examples I ran to make a surface depth adjustment.
Series Type : Depth
Starting Value: -20
Ending Value: 25
Step Amount: 5
Media Number: 3 (this is was the Toray plate media number)
I think you can find the media number by typing 'redirect enable' then 'set med' and it will print out all the medias.  You can try 'set med 1' to see what media 1 is, and so on.

The command needed to update the value being tested on the laser head is given in the top right of the script dialog window.  It should be something like 'set med 1 sd xxxx'  you put the new value where the xxxx is in the command.
To issue this command to the laser head, you need to go to the service shell console and type 'redirect enable' or click the button in the top right with that label.  Then the commands you type are going to the laser head not the lotem.  The enter the 'set med 1 sd 20' command or whatever command you need.  Then click or enter 'redirect disable'
The syntax for the basic set med commands are 'set med [media id] [param] [value]'  media id is the number of the media to edit, the param is the name of the parameter (sd for example is surface depth), and the value is the number to set this parameter to.
